BA Comair customer service. A lesson in how not to treat customers in a COVID-restricted world.
I was a victim of BA Comair's cancellation over July August due to COVID grounding reasons. Despite what I thought was a poor communication of the situation, I accepted my misfortune and wished to pursue a refund. This was offered with their "Booking with Confidence" policy and communicated to be by email.
I was told on the 24th of August that my credit card had been refunded and if not shown on my bank statement within 72 hours, I should contact them.
I have done so. 6 times. It is now 10 September and not one instance or decency of reply to communicate potential holdups, delays or processing issues. How can it be that an International company with incredible resources and experience in the South African climate, be so poor at customer service?
Attempts to reach the UK were met with improved service but jurisdiction lies with Comair in SA. Their Customer Relations (CR) department has been copied on every correspondence.
And now I am left with the name and shame game. Stooping to a level to try and get a response from a supplier who refused a service and refuses to refund. I'm certain excuses such as COVID restrictions or skeleton staff might be offered but the airline is flying again and yet its apathy for customer service is communicated loud and clear.
Be wary of "Booking with Confidence". If your experience is anything like mine you'll be left highly disappointed - even if your plane manages to get off the ground.
