Abuse of the Elderly / Poor Service

Dear Sir/ Madam

This email is with reference to the poor wheelchair service received at King Shaka International Airport last night. My mother and arrived in King Shaka last night after flying BA6227. My mother who is a stage 4 cancer patient requested wheelchair assistance in advance and was received by a rude handler named "Thabisile". Thabilise said that my mum was too heavy and she was unable to wheel my mum with her hand luggage (my mother weighs 75kg). Thabilise insisted that I carry my mum's hand luggage in addition to my own.

My mother indicated that I had my own bag to carry and asked if Thabisile could get additional help to which she declined. My mother was clearly upset and asked Thabisile who she could complain to and Thabisile started arguing back indicating that my mother should be grateful.The altercation was audible by onlookers. I sheer to think what would have happened if my mother was alone.

As Thabisile sprinted ahead with my mum, I struggled and labored behind them. It is visible on camera how many times I had to stop to get all items together.

Thabisile's behavior is disgusting. There are certainly larger people, more ill travelers with heavier hand luggage. She is clearly not well suited to dealing with customers and the elderly.
