Bride & Co - Consumer Rights Contravened

After numerous calls to the Parkview store & the head office a dress I purchased in Aug 2020 which was being altered eventually was found in February 2021. I went into the Parkview store at the end of March 2021 and no alterations to the length of the dress and the length of the straps had been made. I refitted the dress and the dressmaker/ alterations lady remeasured the dress straps & length in order to make the changes. I went overseas for a month and in June I returned to the store to fit the dress. To my shock the dress had be shortened too much on the straps and darts put in that were they were never needed, and now the dress couldn't close. The alterations lady assured me that she had not made any changes to the bodices of the dress, however after lengthy debate and me showing her a picture of me in the original unaltered dress, and consulting the other alterations lady in the store, it was confirmed that she had in fact incorrectly shortened the bodice too much. I was assured that she could fix it but that the dress would take some time as she was busy with lots of dresses. I told her and the store manager that I wasn't in a hurry as I didn't buy the dress for any particular event, but rather to add to my collection due to it's unique pattern / fabric design. I returned again in early September and the dress had been even further shortened on the bodice and the part where my breasts should be was on my collar bone and an extra piece of material was added to the back - the dress was butchered!!! I was told that I could have another dress instead. I explained at length that I didn't want another dress, I selected this dress for the unique design. I asked that I be refunded, in light of the fact that after 1 year the original dress which I never ever took possession of had been butchered beyond recognition by your alterations lady and I didn't want anything else that they had. I was told that the lady had been let go due to the numerous dresses that she had damaged and the store had to replace at the stores cost. I was told by the store assistant manager Jenifer that her manager, Tammy from Head Office had refused to refund me my monies and said I should take another dress. I said that I was not ok with this as the store had already given me a run around and wasted my time and destroyed the dress which I had paid for, another dress would not be acceptable at this point. I was given the head office number and told I should speak to Tammy directly - her manager. I left 2 messages for Tammy on her office line and she never returned any of my calls. I then received an email from the assistant store manager Jenifer telling me that Tammy had advised her to let me know that no refund will be given I can take another dress or wait. I rep**** to the email advising that after all the pain, inconvenience and time I've wasted I will not take another dress or ever purchase a dress from Bride & Co again. I am deeply disappointed with the lack of customer service received and the fact that the Manager, Tammy has never had the professionalism to return a single one of my calls. I have to date purchased at least 2 evening gowns a year from Bride and Co for work functions. I have been a loyal and extremely patient customer, despite being given the run-around, had my time wasted and received terrible in the last year with regards to this particular dress. In my view if I have never taken receipt of the dress, and they cannot give me the item I purchased, the sale was not concluded and my money should be returned to me!
