Very Disappointing Experience with Bradlows Newcastle

I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from Bradlows Newcastle.

I purchased sofas from the store, only to discover that the sofas supp**** had previously been used as display furniture. When I raised my concerns, I was assured that the sofas would be exchanged. Unfortunately, despite this assurance, the matter has still not been resolved satisfactorily.

More recently, the store collected the cushions from the sofas. However, when they were returned, they were brought back in open/unprotected conditions, with the internal padding visibly exposed. This is simply unacceptable, particularly when dealing with furniture that is supposed to be supp**** to a customer in an acceptable and presentable condition.

What is most disappointing is the lack of accountability and follow-through after I was promised an exchange. As a customer, I expect to receive new furniture in the condition it was sold to me, not previously displayed items and cushions returned in a condition that raises further concerns about their handling and quality.

I am sharing this review because I believe customers should be aware of my experience. I hope Bradlows Newcastle will take this matter seriously, accept responsibility, and provide a proper resolution rather than continuing to prolong the issue.

I would appreciate a response from Bradlows management regarding this matter and, most importantly, a satisfactory resolution.

It is very disappointing to receive a feedback that reads 'Good Day, thank you for the photos. Should you require updates regarding your repair, please liaise with your respective store. Regards, Pepkor Lifestyle Customer Resolution Centre.'

I wish to reply as follows:

Good Day,

Thank you for your response.

However, your response does not address the actual complaint I raised.

This matter is not simply about requesting an update regarding a repair. My complaint relates to the fact that I was supp**** with sofas that had previously been used as display furniture, despite purchasing them as new, and I was subsequently assured that the sofas would be exchanged.

Furthermore, the most recent incident is particularly concerning. Your team collected the cushions and returned them in an open condition, with the internal padding visibly exposed, as clearly shown in the photographs provided.

I therefore require clarity on the following:

Why was I supp**** with previously used/display sofas?
Why was I promised an exchange if the matter is now being treated merely as a repair?
Why were the cushions returned in an unacceptable condition with the padding exposed?
What is Bradlows' proposed resolution to this matter?

I have already engaged with the respective store, and the reason I escalated the matter to the Customer Resolution Centre was precisely because the issue has not been satisfactorily resolved at store level.

I therefore request that this complaint be properly investigated and that I receive a clear response from management regarding the promised exchange and the condition of the furniture supp**** to me.

I am not simply requesting a repair update. I am requesting that Bradlows take accountability for supplying furniture that was not in the condition I reasonably expected when making the purchase and for failing to honour the commitment made to me regarding the exchange.

I look forward to your substantive response and proposed resolution.

It is rather disappointing that Bradlows decided to inform us that there service provider is handling a matter but they are doing nothing as we speak. I would never recommend anyone to purchase from this doggy retail shop and will therefore escalate the matter to consumer commission as well ombudsman seeing that they are just taking us a typical useless customers
