Bradian Logistics and Telkom WILL Rip You Off!!!
So After having to wait for more than a month for my Samsung A51 It decides to not read my fingerprints and develop an internal crack in the LCD screen making it all black. After taking it in to the shop where I bought it (2020/02/20) I am required to sign an undertaking to pay fees should they deem the phone out of warranty. I also do not get a loan phone. Next on 24 February 2020, I get a notification that the handset was allocated to a repair centre for repairs ***. On 25 February 2020 I get a notification that I need to make a payment to Bradian Logistics for the amount of R2006.09 as my handset has been deemed "Out of Warranty" and this payment needs to be made within 7 days. So I rely on the consumer protection act that affords me the choice of having a product replaced within a six month period if it is not fit for purpose. So on 2020/03/03 I get this consultant telling me that is a problem I must sort out with Telkom after I pay the R189 they demand or my phone will be sold in 30 days to cover cost. What utter cheek. Firstly they admit that there is NO EXTERNAL DAMAGE, NOR WATER DAMAGE, the damage relates to a physical fault as there is a small internal crack in the LCD which voids the warranty according to them.
Now firstly I had the phone less than a month and do not subject it to any form of abuse. Secondly, at the time of booking in the instrument I asked the local service technician how many of the same phones have been booked in. His answer to me was this is the Fifth one in the last month. Since the phones have only been on the market for less than a month I would guess there is a factory fault. My advice steer clear of Telkom and do not make use of this Bradian Logistics rip-off service.
