Worst customer experience

I've experienced bad customer service and have also unfortunately unintentionally given bad customer service as I've worked in retail but I'd never deliberately treat a customer as bad as boxer mokopane treated me.

On 10 Nov, I walked in the store on and the security was very nice to me. I got to the cashier to explain to her that I want a refund and my experience went sour. She sent me to go call her supervisor which was very condescending and disrespectful. It was about 9:45 am in the morning so I can't excuse her laziness and say she was tired. No problem Gladys then comes and firstly begins her interactions by threatening me before attempting to assist me. In a very aggressive tone ka Sepedi she said "I should never ever try to return items. It should be the first and the last time". No problem, I let that slide. I then waited an hour and 40 mins while she walked up and down on the floor. The cashier then went for a cash check for the 2nd time and because I know how long it took the first time, I excused myself to quickly go to the "bathroom". Where I actually went is to do another refund at checkers where they didn't even take 5 minutes to assist me. When I returned to boxer the cashier went on lunch knowing very well that she needs to assist a customer. Another sign of condescending because I waited for them to do cash checks the whole morning and I only stepped out for a few mins. At 12 Gladys then decides she was tired of seeing my face then she called her manager to assist of which she should've done that after 20mins of initially struggling with the refund. The manager didn't even take 8mins to assist with the refund. Which then made me think that Gladys wasn't assisting me on purpose as she wanted me to give in. Anyway I got my money, I'm all good regardless of her intention. The point I got alarmed was when Gladys made me an accomplice to *****. She misled me and made me sign a random refund receipt of R82 that had random items like sweets, cold drinks etc just to force balance the cashiers till. The R82 was too random to be linked to my refund of R154. As the owner of another franchise competitor store, I can tell you for free that it's not the first time they force balance tills like that. That very day, I did refunds at Shoprite, checkers and pick n pay and none of them made me feel that doing the refund was my fault. And I was assisted by black women at all stores but none of them mistreated me because of how young I looked, neither because of my skin color.

Kind Regards, L Mothupi
