THEFT in any way or amount is still THEFT

The review in question has to deal with The Boxer Store on West street in durban central, but after reading the rest of the reviews I am convinced that the problem is endemic to all boxer stores and thus a Group problem. My compliant revolves around the issue of "rounding up and Rounding down" when it comes to giving the customers change. It may seem trivial but understanding the client base of the group and the customer volume per day makes it less trivial and blatant *******. Yesterday i paid a bill of R45.05 with a R50.00 note. My change should have been R4.95 but the cashier gave me R4.90 and happily smiled. when I asked why she had rounded down and effectively stole R0.05 cents from me she siad that this was what they did. She however the upon my insistance gave me 10 cents more to make the change R5.00. It my seem trivial but that 5 cents means nothing to me and most South africans. But lets multiply that 5 cents by 500000 customers on average per day countrywide that gets 5 cents ****** from them and we have a very alarming figure of R25000.00 per day. when I asked the store manager, Siya, why this was the practice he actually smiled at me wondering why I was complaining about 5 cents. This is theft. Not Shoprite or Wollies or Checkers does this . But at Boxer this is common practice. I left my number and name there for someone to get back to me for clarification but as yet no one has called. So I will take it that THEFT is part of the groups corporate philosophy. GOTTA LOVE BOXER STORES. I bet they would not do this if the LSM grouping were higher and white. Let see if they even respond.
