********** Double Debiting, Bad Attitude, Worst Services I ever encounter

It was a very nastic experience on the eve of Xmas at Boxer Superstore, Nquthu. We travelled all the way from Durban for a Programme at Nquthu (23-26). On the eve Xmas, we went to Boxer to get some items needed. I bought items in the morning worth over R5000 with no issue. On getting back in the afternoon for further purchase for the programme (all purchase was with my credit card from Discovery), I got to the till to pay (total was R2834.11). The lady swiped my credit card and I got an alert. She however held to my card that the system is offline. I told her and showed her the alert I got on my email but she said NO, that the system was offline and the debit will be reversed. The front desk "manager" also insisted on the same (I suppose there was only a problem with the cable of their till AFTER my card was debitted) but seems all efforts to get them to reason proved abortive. She went ahead to swip my card 2nd time and told me they will reverse the 1st (just about 2 mins after the 1st). I told them usually, I get a reversal notice immediately if there was a problem. I waited but no reversal. I requested to see the Manager, one Mr Simon, who also said it will be reserved within 24 hours. He signed my slip, gave me his cell phone to call and said I should return the following day. Getting back there on Sunday (Xmas), the Maanager (Simon) was not around (He didn;t tell me he will be offline). I met with two assistance (one of them Mr David and the other I think Sya or so). They initially seems not to be ready to assist until I had to call Simon on phone who spoke to them. They said I should bring my statement. I told them I was at Nquthu only on holiday, have no access to get the statement and the card is from Discovery not bank. I asked they give me access to their system so I can access my statement online and print it out as requested. I however showed them the statement from my smartphone (access my online statement via the phone). They were convinced about the issue but said they could not help. I was told to return on Monday. I told them we are returning back to Durban on Monday and the money is needed to pay for Taxi hired. As they did not do anything I had to return on Monday after our programme.

Surprising, Simon that requested I come on Monday was still not in store. I saw the other two assistant who speaking with Simon on Phone now insisted I must simply to to Boxer in West Street (Durban) so they could help me sort out my case. I reasoned with them that how could that be possible when they are not the one I bought something from neither are aware of it. On insistence and to meet with our travel plan, I had to leave.

I went to Boxer in West Street as directed on Tuesday morning (December 27) but as I suspect will happen, the Manager there said she didn't know why they refer me to them as they cannot help me. I had to call Simon again who spoke to the Manager and requested that she fax my slip and statement to him for actions. The Assistant Manager in West Street said they would not be able to help me (even at the hqtr) as they are not the branch involved. The Manager returned my documents and said she has fax it to Simon for actions.

My next call to follow up with Simon was met with an unexpected response, telling me he was driving and help cannot help me that I should simply do what he said. I have sent him SMS twice with no response. He said he is not the owner of Boxer but only an employee. I said then why do they put people that are not knowledgable at the till (as the person seems uninformed to me - despite all evidences I showed to her that my account is debitted). It is quite unfortunate that till now (Jan 2nd), there is no call or response to my fax document, SMSes and document sent, neither from Nquthu store nor from Boxer hqrt. This is a very nasty experience I never expected. We were inconvience as we were delayed for over 6 hours after our programme trying to source for another means to pay the taxi people. I have been affected as my money (R2834.11) that was double debitted kept hanging with Boxer (which I am sure is showing on their record and no one is responding to me yet). This is a big ***** and very unbecoming of a big superstore like Boxer. I have had to report this to my credit card provider also and still await the refund of my R2834.11.

Though I went to another boxer yesterday in Pinetown, I think I have to stop anything and everything that has to do with Boxer and spread the bad news to others so they are aware of this *****. I believe it is because those put in place to handle things do not have the necessary knowledge or qualification for such. It is unfortunate.

I hope someone act quickly on this to refund my R2834.11 (This is too much to loose).

Regards

Remi

********** 035/ ********** 882

I am now sorted.
I quite appreciate the professional and ethical manner the case was promptly attended to by Mr Kavi Naidoo. I must confess that he changed my perception completely about Boxer. The ladies in Boxer Superstore in Pinetown were very wonderful too. Thanks for sorting this out and that at the speed of light. I appreciate and will definitely now do more business with Boxer, while recommending it to others.
Thanks
