Continued ******* Customer Service
I have just been to Boxer Supermarket at the Hammarsdale Junction in Hammarsdale, Durban, around 13:00 and the till slip is written 13:13. I picked up a few things and I put them in a hand basket. I get to the till, as I was with my elderly father as as we discuss something with him, he thought he had dropped money on the shop floor. It turned out it wasn't the case. We turned around to realize that the cashier had not started scanning the items in the basket. She told us that it is not her job to empty the shopping basket to which I retorted that it didn't make sense what she was saying. I asked her whose job is it then, and she said she doesn't know but all she knows is that it's not her job. She said she had been trained by the supermarket that it wasn't her job. I then asked for her name as she had her name tag sagging facing downwards on her Boxer t/shirt. She flatly refused to tell me her name. I asked what is the point of her having to wear a name tag if her name should not be used by customers for reference, to which she said she doesn't know and doesn't care. I then left it at that knowing the till slip would have her name on. She was on till 11 around 13:00. I made it clear to her that I was going to used her till number as reference to which she grinned sarcastically. I know many people from around the area who have cars who would rather drive to Hillcrest or Pinetown rather than shop in Hammarsdale because of the attitude shown by businesses towards customers in the area. These are people who would rather not shop there again rather than complain. The Spar in the same complex has the same issues but that's another topic for another day. It'll be a while before Boxer sees my money again. I have tolerated this ******* behavior for far too long. On the till slip, the name that appears there is Fezeka Molefe.
