Being required to stand 8 hours a day as a retail employee is ridiculous!!!

Being required to stand 8 hours a day, sometimes more(with low wages) as a retail employee is ridiculous. Prolonged standing leads to a number of negative health outcomes, low back pains, physical fatigue, muscle pain, leg swelling, tiredness, and body part discomfort due to prolonged standing. I'm a worker at Boxer Superstore Mafikeng and I recently started there, I know what I'm talking about. Imagine as a new worker and feeling this way; what about those who worked there for longer periods. I know I might get fired for this review, but if I do, I will come back again here.

What they're doing as employers is purely to induce suffering. It's barbaric and, frankly, rooted in corporate sadism, all because we need paying jobs, but atleast be mindful of people's health.

Just so we're clear, employers see normal people as walking pieces of garbage. And they count every second of your job and track tons of metrics about retail and warehouse employees. Our comfort, our happiness is never ever ever going to be a factor as long as they keep making money and no one resorts to violence.

Standing at a cash registers or as Packers and going about the store pretending to do something, when in actual fact, youredoing nothing; literally serves zero purpose other than to make us subservient to the higher ups. I have NEVER met a single customer who actually cared if there cashier was sitting or standing. It’s honestly so abusive and dehumanizing If you think about it. Why should my employer dictate how I have to ring people up as long as I get the job done. I think all jobs that can be done sitting or standing should have the option of a stool or chair to sit.
