Tuition Refund
Good day,
I trust that you are well.
So I contacted Tyran from the Boston City Campus in Pretoria more than a week ago to inform her about my brother who had registered in the beginning of the year and my dad paid a full tuition cost of R37,000.00 and decided to deregister to go back to Grade 12 to better his results to pursue other study options. The deregistration took place before the commencement of the lectures. Tyran was contact by my father and the school from which my brother is enrolled to notify her of this circumstances.
To which Tyran requested an email confirming that indeed my brother had been registered and that they would refund the monies back to my father excluding the registration fee of about R600, which to this day has not happened...neither have we received any correspondence from Tyran.
My father then went to the Campus to which he was turned back and told that he must collect the books after it was thoroughly explained to her that my brother will he pursing other studies of his choice post the Grade 12 results at the end of 2021/beginning of 2022.
I have also contacted Tyran and was advised to send an email which I did as mentioned above more than a week ago. Email first sent to Tyran on the 1st of April and a follow up email was sent 4 days ago.
My email reads as per below:
"I am writing to you with regards to my baby brother Shaun Ndhlovu, student number 30HA***, ID number : (removed because of POPI) who was enrolled for his second year of study in Bachelor of Commerce Management Marketing with the Boston Campus in Pretoria, and has decided to go back to Grade 12 for the betterment of his results after which he will be enrolling for a medical degree.
Attached herein are the following documents: Proof of payment made to Boston City Campus for the full tuition for which a refund is requested. Letter from Oasis college as proof that he has been enrolled back into Grade 12 My dad's Proof of banking details to which the refund needs to be made to.
I can also confirm the following: My dad spoke to you telephonically during March 2021 and you confirmed that a refund will be paid into his account. You also confirmed that only the registration fee of +/- R600 will be deducted from the R37 000.00 which was paid in January 2021. May dad also came to the institution on Monday, 29 March 2021 and spoke to you regarding this matter. Please revert to this email urgently with confirmation that the refund will be made into my dad's account as per the attached banking details..
If there is anything else that you require, please let me know so I can furnish you with same for ease of reference.
I look forward to hearing from you soonest.
Kind regards"
To this day, I have not received any response. I have tried contacting Tyran and she is just 'ignoring' my calls and have not reverted to me. I am using the word ignoring because if this wasn't the case, where is the etiquette to return calls?
I am so frustrated and disappointed and need help urgently to return all monies due to my father except for the admin/registration fee amount of about R600.00
Thank you
