This institution only cares about money

I have been a student at Boston City campus for a couple of years and I honestly wish I had gone to a different institution where they actually care about their students and not just the money we bring in. I have so much that I could go on and on about how that is true but I can only go into 2 incidents. Firstly, they registered me for a module I had already done and passed. I am doing Bcom Accounting so my books don’t really change through the years and the modules mostly just change codes and I didn’t realise until I had done the module AGAIN and paid for it! This happened with 2 different modules but luckily I realised before doing the second one. When I enquired about this I was told it’s my fault for not realising the module was the same and I was never even refunded or anything for the module. Secondly, I was given a second opportunity to write my Integrated exam as it is the only module stopping me from graduating. There was a lot of unprofessionalism with the exam administration and I had to go back and forth to even get the exam to getting finally marked. I had gotten 43% for the supp and the 2nd opportunity exam came back as 41% which honestly doesn’t make sense considering the exam didn’t change. I don’t understand how I could have scored lower. I asked to go through my script to atleast get an understanding of where or how I could’ve gone wrong and I was told I would get a call to do that, which never happened. I’ve been sending emails to no response. I honestly believe my paper wasn’t marked fairly, also because it was only marked after I was called and told the registrations were closing and they just wanted to make sure I register again and pay for the module.

Dear Charity

Thank you for sharing your concerns with us. At Boston City Campus, we strive to provide an educational experience that values both academic excellence and student support, and it is disheartening to hear that you feel this has not been your experience. We apologise for the issues you have encountered with your module registration and the administration of your Integrated exam. Please know that your feedback is valuable to us, and we are committed to resolving any issues that may have been encountered.

I look forward to our meeting tomorrow, and I encourage you to please use this opportunity to delve into those technical queries to understand where marks were lost so you can excel going forward.

We wish you all the best with your studies and future endeavours.

Kind Regards,
Tracey Davids
