Graduation

I asked numerous times about the graduation ceremonies as I finished my studies end of 2019 and was supposed to attend the ceremony last year, they said we’d be invited to the 2020 ceremony. No feedback from them, today I ask and I am being told it will be in absentia or held online after being told I would be invited to the 2020 ceremony. This is so unfair as they are changing what they had promised, I understand the pandemic happened and they couldn’t host graduations last year, but I was told they’d host them and 2019 graduates would get an invite. I did well in my year of studies there and paid a lot in fees every month without fail just to be told it will be in absentia/online. I want my full physical graduation experience.

Dear ThandekaWe fully understand that you were looking forward to the celebration of your success with friends and families in a glamorous graduation ceremony, as so many graduates before 2020.  And then the disappointment of no physical ceremony.  After careful consideration, the Directors of Boston have again elected not to host any head office or branch graduation events during the first semester in 2021. The decision comes in lieu of the practical limitations that exist around us having to accommodate a huge number of graduates and guests at convocations under the prevailing regulations on social gatherings, and especially since graduates want to feel the grandness of a large ceremony, as opposed to be invited to tiny gatherings. There is however, a glimmer of hope, with the possibility of Boston hosting graduation events later in semester 2 of 2021, inviting past graduates to take part in these ceremonies.  Any changes in the decision not to host a graduation ceremony, will be communicated with all graduates via e-mail.
Kind regards
Team Boston
