BOSTON CITY CAMPUS(PMB)

My Honest Experience at Boston City Campus – Please Read Before Enrolling

Hi, I’d like to share my honest experience with Boston City Campus in the hope that it helps someone else make a more informed decision.

When I received my Bachelor Pass, I was full of excitement and ambition. I was ready to start this new chapter of my life, and when I went to register at Boston, I met Mr., who welcomed me with warmth and enthusiasm. He painted a beautiful picture of student life — telling me about roommates, academic support, and access to a library. It sounded like a place where I’d feel supported and grow academically and personally.

But that dream quickly turned into a nightmare.

I Was Never Told It Was Distance Learning

No one ever told me that Boston is a distance learning institution. I only found out during Orientation — nine days after February 15, a key date that passed without me realizing its importance. I thought I was finally going to start real classes, but instead I was thrown into a system I didn’t understand. I felt misled and completely unprepared for what lay ahead.

I Felt Lost and Alone

I moved into accommodation hoping to meet other students and start building friendships. But I was alone. I was surrounded by strangers who are not even students but adults , with no idea how to study or get support. I cried on the phone to a friend from high school, overwhelmed by a sense of confusion and betrayal. I didn’t know who to turn to, and I was already past the 7-day window to raise concerns or make changes — a window I didn’t even know existed.

The Mental Toll Was Heavy

I tried to stay strong. My mentor, encouraged me to keep pushing. And I did — but the emotional toll became unbearable. I stopped eating. I stopped talking. I felt like I had no purpose. I didn’t want to worry my mom, who had just come out of hospital for depression, so I pretended everything was okay. But it wasn’t.

Eventually, I broke down and told her everything. She told me to come home — and I did.

I Realized I Wasn’t Alone in My Confusion

Before I left, I spoke to other Boston students — and many of them were just as confused about the system. That’s when I realized it wasn’t just me. So many of us felt misinformed, unsupported, and alone.

Once I left the campus and returned home, I slowly started to feel like myself again. I began eating, laughing, and reconnecting with who I was before all of this pain.

Why I’m Sharing This

I’m not writing this to attack Boston or any specific individual. I’m writing this because no student deserves to feel the way I felt. If Boston is truly a distance learning institution, that should be made crystal clear from the start — not after a student has moved in, paid fees, and crossed a deadline they didn’t know existed.

Transparency matters. Student support matters. Mental health matters.

I trusted Boston with my future, and that trust was broken. I hope that by sharing my story, Boston reconsiders how they welcome, orient, and support students — especially those coming straight from high school.

If you’re thinking of enrolling at Boston City Campus, please ask questions. Make sure you fully understand what kind of learning you’re signing up for. And if you’re someone who needs face-to-face interaction and support, be cautious. This may not be the right fit for you.

To any students who’ve had a similar experience: You are not alone. Your feelings are valid. And it’s okay to walk away from something that’s hurting you.

Boston didn't even mention that we have to book in order to be in class,I wasn't ready for all of this.
