Boston city campus Braamfontein students complaints
We as the Students of Boston have the following issues we would like to be addressed by the college's management 1. Wi-Fi Access ( Students need internet access to conduct research for assignments) 2. Canteen and Basketball court being demolished without students being notified 3. Noise from the construction ( No notice was made to students before construction started and it's affecting some of the students health) 4. Cancellation of the sports day participation (we are the only campus that is not attending)
Dear Domingos,
We have received your complaint, which has been addressed by management and the following refers.
1) Please be advised that whilst internet is not necessary for completion of assignments; we are now working with a company to roll out internet for student use.
2) The basketball court was unusable, and in fact had been locked and unused since February 2016. It is being converted into a garden, a ‘green lung’ for students to sit in and relax.
3) The new Reception and Career Information Centre/hub and canteen will be completed in the next 6 weeks. This project is designed to bring students and potential students maximum comfort and function.
4) Regarding the construction, this is taking place on the ground floor areas and is not affecting study areas. We do apologize for any inconvenience but feel that students will find that this was well worth it.
5) Participation of Braamfontein students at a local sports day was cancelled due to lack in interest from the students. Students were advised of this last Thursday. We hope that we will see more participation for the sports event planned for 22nd September which will be announced shortly!
