Best College Ever...Boston City College

I didn't know what I would do after high school to be honest I had no clue but I knew I wouldn't be an electrical engineer like my father, I was always a creative, I hated maths and science, but I did them both in matric trying to please my father. but the sad truth, is I sucked in both maths and science, and that was evident, when we got our matric results. I had failed maths and gotten condoned in science, that dropped my APS score which made it difficult for me to get into university.

After being rejected by a CUT a local university, on my way home I saw a bright red teardrop banner outside, next to a gazebo and in the gazebo were two of the most friendliest people you'll ever meet, eager to answer all my questions, I asked them if there is anything that has to do with media, because I wasn't really sure on what course in media but I knew I had an interest in media, they told me to go inside to meet a consultant who could give me more information on the course I could possibly study.

So I went upstairs and there I was assisted by Miss Gladys one of the most beautiful human beings on planet earth she was soo welcoming and kind, she made me feel at ease and I could be myself. I opened up to her and told her, I wasn't sure on what I wanted to study, but I was interested in media. she showed me the options they had, I fell immediately in love with Digital Music Composition. I was obsessed with music so this would be perfect for me and unlike the University they didn't want my APS so I convinced my parents to let me study this course and it wasn't easy but it was worth it. Because I was the first student, in the Boston Campus in Welkom, to study this course, I had to wait for equipment and programmes, but while I was waiting, I was given a FREE!!! course, which was the Music Business. The Music Business gave me a lot more insight on the business side of the music and because I was studying these courses I was able to get myself an internship at the local radio station. I also volunteered at CRC(Christian revival church) where I got to be exposed to practical sound engineering, which now I am the Head of The Sound Department.

After I finished my course, and became the FIRST Digital Music Composition graduate. I continued my studies and I completed my Higher Certificate in Marketing. I was then approached by the lovely campus manager and offered a Job at Boston and that's where I am today. Oh I'm also working on an album in Boston, that's not something you hear everyday!!!
