Terribly bad service from Bosch in South Africa

I have had a Bosch Athlet cordless vacuum cleaner for a couple of years. Earlier this year, it became clear that the batteries were near end-of-life - the vacuum cleaner needed to be recharged after about 5 minutes of use. So I finally took the vacuum cleaner to the Bosch Service centre in Wendywood, Johannesburg. They send me a quote (mid-June 2024) for replacing the 25.2 Volt battery set, which I accepted. I followed up a number of times, and was informed that a battery set (part number ***4) was on order from Bosch, Germany. A week ago they informed me that they still did not have an ETA for the battery set, to which I responded with a rather angry e-mail demanding an expected delivery date. The response I got was that the battery set could NOT be imported as it was classified as "dangerous goods"..... So, my Bosch appliance is now useless??? Why did they not advise me accordingly two months ago i.s.o. supplying me with a quotation??
