Review - December 2024 Service

In December 2024, I took my car to Bosch for repairs. Upon arrival, I was promptly attended to, and one of the employees took my car key. I assumed they would start inspecting the car immediately. However, after waiting for over four hours without any updates, I approached the reception desk to ask what was going on. That’s when I was informed that I’d need to leave my car overnight and that they’d only begin looking at it the following day. This information should have been communicated upfront instead of making me wait for hours without explanation.

Reluctantly, I agreed to leave the car since they said it wasn’t safe to drive in its current condition. The following day, I didn’t receive any updates, so I tried contacting them. No one answered my calls or responded to my WhatsApp messages. It wasn’t until the third day that I managed to get through to someone. They told me they were still inspecting the car and would send me a quote within the hour.

When I finally received the quote, I asked them to contact my mechanical warranty provider, as the workshop needed to lodge the claim on my behalf. They assured me they would handle it. The next day, I called the warranty provider to check if the claim had been submitted, only to find out it hadn’t. When I called the workshop again, I was told the person handling my case was on leave and hadn’t submitted the claim. Another employee eventually submitted it while I was on the phone, and I finally received a policy number.

The next day, I followed up with the warranty provider to confirm the claim’s progress. They informed me that the claim had been lodged but was incomplete, missing crucial details such as the nature of the problem. I tried contacting the workshop again, but they didn’t answer my calls or respond to my messages.

By the fifth day, I was fed up and decided to visit the workshop in person. I arrived just before 1 p.m., but they had already closed. I managed to speak to one of the employees (the same person who had taken my car key on the first day), and his attitude was dismissive. He claimed I should have expected delays because it was December and many staff members were on holiday. I told him they should have communicated this from the start so I could decide whether to leave my car or not.

When I asked if I could take my car back, he said no because it had already been stripped down. He promised to call me after Christmas on December 27th. However, it wasn’t until the following Monday that they contacted me, saying they had finally submitted the claim.

The next day, I confirmed with the warranty provider that the claim had been authorized. I forwarded the authorization letter to the workshop, and they said they would begin repairs. However, they informed me that I would need to pay additional costs for items not covered by the warranty. These charges were not part of the original quote. Frustrated and desperate to get my car back, I chose not to dispute the charges and agreed to pay the difference.

The next day, I finally got my car back. It was filthy and hadn’t been cleaned, but at that point, I was just relieved to have it returned.

In summary, Bosch provided terrible communication and customer service. Their staff displayed a poor attitude and failed to keep me updated throughout the process. I wouldn’t recommend anyone taking their car there for repairs. This experience made my holiday incredibly unpleasant.
