Poor after sale service and no commitment to guarantee.

Hi, I am the owner of a Nissan NP 200, 1500 diesel. I live in Welkom and work in Rustenburg during the week. In May 2017 I observed water leaking from somewhere in my vehicles engin and took in to be seen to at Bosch service , Rustenburg. On further investigation Bosch found that the waterpump was faulty and had to be replaced. Theyhad to remove the Cambelt and cranck pully as well as the fanbelt to get to the waterpump. They also sugested that the Cambelt and fanbelt be changed on which I agreed. The job was done and I paid therefor and was told that get a 6 month guarantee on the work done.

On 28 July 2017 on my way home from Rustenburg I heard a loud noise and the motor cut out. I managed to steer to the side of the road and found that the motor was dead. I then arranged to get my vehicle towed to Welkom. The following morning I had the vehicle towed to ACD Service in Welkom. On explaining to Mr Archer the owner what happened, and what it sounded like, he rep**** that it could have been the Cambelt that snapped. I then asked him to store the vehicle there for the weekend as I had to return to Rustenburg on Sunday 30/07/2017.

On Monday 31/07/2017 I contacted Bosch service Rustenburg on which they requested that I have my vehicle moved to Autodoc Welkom who is the Bosch agent. I arranged it and it was done by ACD Service.

On Tuesday 01/08/2017 Bosch Rustenburg let me know that they moved my vehicle to Bosch Rustenbrug by means of a breakdown. They also let me know later in the day that the cranck pully bolt came loose and that that was the cause of the breakdown. They also sent me photos of the cranck pully and bolt.

Thursday 03/08/2017 I went to Bosch Rustenburg to see the progress on my vehicle. The lady who works at Bosch Rustenburg informed me that the bolt seccuring the pully was the wrong bolt and that is why it came loose and that the cam belt was still in place. She informed me that the motorhead of my vehicle was sent in for engineering. She also said that I am liable for all the spares cost, as well as the towing of the vehicle from Welkom to Rustenburg as it was not her fault that the bolt was the wrong bolt. She also said that she would not charge me for labour. She also sugested that I get rid of the vehicle once it is repaired as she normaly suggests this to all her customers who have had cambelt trouble and have their motor heads engineered for repair. When I asked her if they do not have insurance for a case like this and she rep****, no.

I took my vehicle to Bosch Service in good faith initially when the waterpump broke thinking that they would have highly qualified Technicians that would be able to Identify when a bolt is not right. I don`t think am liable for this account as I took my vehicle to a specialist and they could not even identify a bolt that is wrong.

PS. PRIOR TO THE WATERPUMP, THE VEHICLE HAD NO CAMBELT PROBLEMS.
