Car has been there for a month now for repairs

Booked my car in for a 228000 km service, mentioned that the car's cambeld whas replaced on 150000km and if they find any other faults they should let us know. Got my car back, a week later my car broke down took it back just to find out that the cambelt broke, my car has been standing there now for a hole month and if I don't contact them I would not know what has or has'int been done to my car and if I give the go ahead for my car to be repaired I then I get a phone call a few days later asking me if I whant them to go ahead with the repairing of my car.And they game down with there original quote of 18 000 to R15 000 how do you explain that!!!
