Bosch Car Service Bedfordview - TERRIBLE Service

On 25 May 2017, my Kia Sportage went in for its 135000km service. I asked them to check the brakes.

I then received a quotation later on in the morning for the service, brakes and list of other items that needed replacing etc. Included in the email was the following wording:

“Upon inspection, it was discovered that the front and rear pads are worn down completely. This is a road hazard, and legally we are not allowed to release the vehicle with the brakes in this condition.”

I do not have a law degree, but as far as I am aware and have researched;

1. This is a false statement

2. It might possibly be ******* to make a statement like that

How can a company make a statement like that? What if you don’t have the additional R3740.80 quoted to replace the brakes? Obviously this is a way to bully or scare a customer into accepting the quote?? The owner contacted me and asked if we could buy the breaks and they would put them in for us to which I rep**** that he would need to speak to my husband about. He then did and my husband told him no, which is then (A) proof that we are taking the responsibility of the safety of the vehicle away from them. I then sent a mail stating that my husband would replace the brakes himself (B) the second form of proof that the responsibility was not on Bosch.

When I got home, we checked the service book to see if it had been stamped and to our shock we found that a mini summary of what had been done and what needed to be done was written in the SERVICE BOO****! Surely, if a customer rejects a quote then this gets written on the invoice or via email or somewhere else BUT NOT IN THE SERVICE BOO****!!! If in future I wanted to sell my car, this would be a complete turn off for a buyer. Regardless if there were invoices in the book showing that it had been done! THE DAMAGE IS DONE!!! THANK YOU BOSCH BEDFORDVIEW!!!

Does the law not require that any parts replaced during a service be given back to the owner unless the repair is done under warranty? My service was not under warranty and I did not receive the oil filter back.

I am totally and utterly disgusted at the service and plain spitefulness this branch has shown us and I will never go to another Bosch again!

Even the complaint that I sent to your head office was ignored. Not even a call from the owner apologizing - NO WONDER you don't reply to the complaints on HelloPeter, clearly there are just far to many!!!
