Worst service ever.

Hi team.

My name is John. My car failed to proceed on the N1 South coming from Tzaneen. When my car stopped I got out and opened the bonnet I saw that the car could no longer drive.

I Immediately phoned a friend and said that my car had failed to proceed and Could they come and collect. This was about 16:30 hours. I then went on the Waze app and saw the closest town to where I was parked was 18 km away ( Modi Molli) if I carried on highway for a few km then turned back. I will state again 18 km away.

At some point one of your vehicles VW with registration number FVH 338 L stopped on the other side of the highway and asked if I was okay. I replaced I needed assistance. He came over and we spoke. He said he could town me to the next town. He mentioned the name but as I said to him I don’t know the area he was it’s just down the road. I at that point thought it was Modi molli as I had been there several times in the past and checked that it was 18 km from my last check on Waze app.

At about 17:10 He said he could organise a tow truck for R850 ( eight hundred and fifty Rands) I said it was fine. He then at some point turned his vehicle around and hooked up my vehicle to his using a thin ratchet tie down. He started towing me we turned on the highway and started towards where I was hoping Modi molli. We drove at breakneck speed for being towed with a thin strap at an average speed of 100km an hour.

Stopping a few times because going down hill my car was starting to go so fast that I had to slowly apply the breaks not to hit into the back of the VW. This annoyed the driver of the VW to the point of him Stopping and asking if I was hitting the breaks on purpose. I then requested he tie me to the police station.

My nerves where shot by the time we go to Makapani 72 km later. When we got to town his supervisor arrived behind us at a robot. I told the supervisor and driver that I was not happy. They then towed me and parked the car outside the police station.

I requested an invoice for the R850 which a bank account number was given to me on a piece of paper. I was told it was an FNB account. I paid the money into the account and waited for the invoice which I requested. I never got an invoice. We then pushed my vehicle closer to the front of the police station.

I told both the driver and supervisor that I was not happy. I expect to be towed to the closest town which was 18km away and not 72km from the initial area.

I was busy on the phone trying to give my friend direction when both the supervisor which was in a white pickup and the driver of the VW got in the vehicles and drove off.

For your inquiry. I am sending pictures of the things I have unfortunately I don’t have video of me in the car driving at speed but with the information I send you can clearly see that the time between the start of the tow and end stop are not the legal requirements for towing a vehicle especially on a highway including the distance. I was too terrified to make video blogging towed Because I didn’t wanna take both my hands off the steering wheel. I do have a short video that I can send through later.

Please consider this as an urgent matter that needs some resolution.
