Dissatisfied
A disappointing experience – Where are we heading as a society? I waited for 30 minutes to be seated. I was number one in the queue, yet people who arrived after me were attended to and seated before me. In fact, one of the customers who had already been seated had to draw the attention of the staff at the door to the fact that I had been waiting for quite some time. I cannot help but wonder whether the fact that I was dining alone (a party of one) had something to do with being overlooked. Perhaps, in someone's estimation, one person is not as valuable a customer as a larger table, or the anticipated tip is not worth the same effort. What made matters worse was hearing a staff member say, "Oh, those are our regular customers!" Does being a regular customer entitle someone to preferential treatment at the expense of others? Where are we heading? Have we not moved beyond this kind of behaviour? Every customer deserves to be treated with respect, courtesy and fairness, regardless of whether they arrive alone or in a group. Different strokes for different folks? I certainly hope that is not the standard of service being practised. I am deeply disappointed. It is not about being given special treatment; it is about expecting equal treatment. One sentence I particularly like for your complaint is: "I did not expect preferential treatment. I simply expected not to be treated as though I mattered less because I was alone." That says it all. �

Bad Service!
I'm writing to review Bootleggers coffee shop on Sandown Road in Sunningdale Cape Town. I arrived there this morning just after 9am. Nobody at the counter was available to assist me so I went to sit at a table. A waitress came over a little while later & I ordered a Dirty Chai which arrived cold. I waited a little & then took the coffee to the barista at the counter & asked him to please warm it up as it was cold. I then took my coffee back to my table. For 3.5 hours nobody bothered to check on me or ask if I wanted anything else so I packed up my laptop etc & went to the counter to pay. The Waitress who initially served me rushed to the counter to take my payment & I told her their service is really bad & that nobody had checked on me in over 3 hours. She said "oh but you had a headset on" which I'm not sure why that stopped her from asking if I need anything but I told her that regardless she should've asked me if I needed anything else. She then gave me the card machine with the tip option open cheekily thinking I was going to give her a tip after her bad service! I did not & needless to say I will not be going back.

Bad Service!

************** AND DISRESPECT AT BOOTLEGGER UMHLANGA ROCKS I am absolutely appalled by the blatant **************, contempt, and utter disrespect my wife and I experienced at Bootlegger Coffee Company in Umhlanga Rocks this morning. We arrived before 08:45 and were given a place to sit. Five minutes later—without even being provided a menu—a waiter abruptly threw us out of our seats and out of the store. No explanation, no courtesy, just pure hostility. My the time we left at around 09:20 the table was vacant what does this say to you? When we tried to address this shocking treatment, the owner was nowhere to be found, and the manager on duty could not have cared less. We were treated with total contempt in a country that has suffered deeply under Apartheid. It is devastating to see that this type of active ************** is still rife and tolerated in our businesses today. We will never step foot in a Bootlegger establishment again. I urge my friends, family, and the broader community to NOT support Bootlegger Umhlanga Rocks. ************** has no place in our society. Bad Service. Bad Cofffee. *********** Barista.
I had an absolute terrible experience at Bootleggers Grand West just now being one of a few now at this Bootleggers with staff that are very unfriendly, barista who makes your coffee with an utter cold attitude clearly displaying the level of appreciation for a job that is supposed to be a passionate one especially when creating something that someone has to consume. I am very dissapointed and cannot recommend this bootleggers at all. The coffee she made tasted like it was just milk and no actual coffee, and had to throw it away.
