Direct marketing cold calls

Boomerang marketing places cold calls offering products from a call centre. If asked, the call centre agents, tell you that they obtained your private information from a "national database" and appear to be completely unaware that their company has obtained your information ********ly. This is in contravention of the Protection of Personal Information Act (PoPI). I believe that Boomerang and other direct marketing companies should be ordered to tell ordinary South Africans how and where they obtained our personal information. Moreover, whoever is making a profit from selling your personal information should face ******** prosecution.
