Exactly What I ordered but Huge Time Delay and Lack of Update on Status

I took a chance with this online store even though many reviews were quite scathing. Placed my Order and made payment near the end of June. Then waited and waited... Beginning of August I got an automated email telling me they still putting the order together. After enquiring Why does it take 35 days just to get this email. I was told the warehouse team did not pick up the order for shipping. How does that happen? and if i hadn't had enquired would They ever have realised they hadn't made good on this purchase? Anyway I refused the credit refund and just wanted the item I ordered. I had to also provide my ID no. to receive the item. Which I'm still not comfortable having done so. Finally received the item on the 22 Aug, almost 2 months after placing my order and making payment. I was happy though that it was exactly what I ordered. Just that the Time Delay and Lack of communication is highly frustrating.
