Defect shoe

I am writing to express my extreme frustration and disappointment. I purchased a pair of your shoes about a month ago, never worn. Today, while trying them on for the first time, the side split completely. I went to the store and was told the shoes must be sent to head office, and that I may even have to cover shipping. That is unacceptable. I urgently need a replacement pair, as I have a funeral this Friday. Please have the store authorized to exchange the shoes immediately. If this is not resolved urgently, I will escalate the matter. I trust you will address this quickly.
