Worst experience with Bobgo and RAM – completely unacceptable and *********.
In April, Bobgo (via RAM) lost a parcel I sent. Since then, I’ve had to call and follow up daily, only to be passed from one person to another, always told “next week,” or “we're waiting for RAM.” There’s been no accountability, no urgency, and no proper customer service.
In the meantime, I had to reorder stock for my customer at a cost of up to $3,000, re-pay the courier fees for a parcel they lost, and handle the fallout — all at my own expense. And after all that, they came back saying they’ll only pay out less than R1,000 — not even a third of what it cost me.
And here’s the kicker: they haven’t even paid that. We're almost in August, and I still haven’t received a single cent of the refund. Yet, I was given just seven days to submit all documentation, or the refund wouldn’t even be considered.
This process has been one-sided, unfair, and financially damaging to me as a business owner. Bobgo and RAM have shown zero care for their customers. I strongly advise others to avoid them at all costs.
Thank you so much for your honest and detailed feedback. We completely understand your frustration, this has clearly been a deeply disappointing and costly experience, and you have every right to feel let down. Please know that your concerns are being taken seriously.
We are working closely with both our internal team and RAM’s senior management to ensure your refund is processed as soon as possible. I truly regret the length of time this has taken, and we want to make sure there are no further delays from here on out.
In terms of the broader claims process and not as an excuse, but simply to offer some clarity, when parcels are lost or damaged in transit, our courier partner applies a liability cap based on their default cover. In RAM’s case, that cover is up to R1,200 per shipment. Anything beyond that requires additional insurance to be selected at time of fulfilment. The reason our courier partners offer optional insurance for shipments that exceed their automatic cover is to help protect against the added risk of sending higher-value parcels. With thousands of parcels being moved every day across the country, there’s always a small chance that something unexpected can happen, and that’s exactly where the added insurance comes in to offer peace of mind and full value protection.
That said, none of this changes the impact this situation has had on your business. This isn’t about shifting responsibility, it’s about acknowledging your experience and doing our part to make it right.
Thank you again for your patience and for giving us the opportunity to resolve this
