Bob go assigned The Courier Guy to pick up a parcel for delivery in Mthatha. The Courier Guy brought a truck to collect the parcel (not to mention that you are required add parcel dimensions and weight when booking, but somehow EVERYONE is shocked at the size) and transport it to Mthatha. When the parcel gets to the depot at Mthatha, The Courier Guy proceeds to call my customer and tell them to arrange their own transport to collect the parcel from the depot as they simply do not have a truck big enough to deliver the parcel. This is despite me logging a delivery (and paying) for delivery to the customer's doorstep! It gets even better; Bob go and The Courier Guy then advise they can arrange a trailer to transport the parcel from the depot to the customer's premises for a cool price of R850!! I kid not! "As per the courier, the shipment requires a truck or trailer for delivery, and the Kiosk doesn't have one available. The cost for hiring a trailer will be R850. Please let us know if we can proceed with the trailer hire. Alternatively, the parcel can be held at the depot for the client to collect."

As per our response to your query regarding this delivery, additional charges, known as surcharges, may be app**** separately to standard courier rates for certain situations, such as deliveries to remote areas or deliveries requiring special vehicles.
These surcharges are determined by the courier and are not included in initial estimates.
