Worst Dealership Service received.

Worst dealership experience.

I took my vehicle in on 13 November 2025 for a simple service and brake fluid change. What should have been a routine visit turned into a complete nightmare.

I was told the car was ready, but once collected, I immediately saw that my previous Bosch service history had been deleted, and the new BMW service hadn’t even been loaded onto the cluster. My staff contacted the service advisor, Faye, to advise her. This already raised serious concerns about competence and care.

The car stayed at my office around the corner from the dealership until Monday, unused. Tuesday morning, the car began leaking coolant. I contacted the dealership immediately, expecting assistance, but they refused to tow the vehicle unless I paid. I ended up covering the tow cost myself and had the vehicle towed back to their dealership. When I opened the bonnet, I found a loose air pipe where they had changed the air filter — something no professional workshop should overlook. I even sent them videos of this.

Their response and finding? A quote for over R7,000 and the claim that nothing was their fault. No accountability, no urgency, no willingness to investigate properly. The leak is coming from a plastic pipe under the oil filter they changed. I assume they were rough and did not use proper care and broke this plastic pipe when changing the oil filter and servicing the car.

When I went to the dealership to inspect the car with a technician, I was shocked to find a BMW 220 sedan being spray-painted outside, in the OPEN, in the RAIN — right in proximity of my car and right next to several others (customers’ cars or used cars, I’m not sure). Seeing this happening at a BMW dealership was unbelievable. This is a fairly new, used car being sprayed by their used cars department for the car to be sold to a customer — not by a BMW-approved panelbeater, but by someone doing a backyard spray job working out the back of their bakkie. Sorry to the person getting that car. See pictures for reference.

I tried to raise my concerns with the workshop manager, but after waiting with no assistance, I approached the dealer principal, Guy Kilfoil. The interaction was dismissive, rude, and unprofessional from the start. Instead of addressing the issues, I was met with sarcasm, irritation, and zero accountability. At no point did anyone offer an apology, take ownership, or even acknowledge the seriousness of the situation. When Guy Kilfoil came down to inspect his onsite spray-painter spraying cars, instead of apologising, he questioned me, asking, “Where is the overspray on your car?” and proceeded to downplay everything, sarcastically saying, “I thought there was going to be a big patch of red paint on your car or something.” lt is ******* and a health and safety hazard to spray cars in the open. Not to mention that they were spray-painting right in the middle of other cars parked all around.

To make matters worse, the service they supposedly completed STILL hasn’t been loaded on the cluster — even after the vehicle went back.

After everything that has happened, I am now expected to pay again to have my vehicle re-towed away from the dealership — another cost I should never be liable for. I have now been without a car for over a week, faced unexpected repair costs, and the vehicle is still not operational.

This experience has left me with absolutely no confidence in this dealership’s workmanship, management, or integrity. Customers deserve to know what they may be walking into. I strongly advise thinking twice before trusting your vehicle to this dealership. Mistakes happen, but the attitude of management, in particular, Guy Kilfoil, and lack of accountability for anything is unbelievable.

Although I prefer not to make reviews of this nature, it is in the public’s best interest. I have asked senior management to intervene, but my requests have fallen on deaf ears.

BMW SA and the Vermaak Group needs to seriously review what is happening here and the way customers are being treated at this dealership.
