This is the letter i wrote to BMW SA twice. They have not even acknowledge that theyve received it.
Dear BMW
I'm writing this letter to voice out my dissatisfaction I have encountered with the purchase of my vehicle.
I bought my vehicle with sole intention of experiencing the ultimate driving machine, something that was going to give me a peace of mind, knowing where ever I go, the car will be the least of my worries, however that turned out to be the worst decision I have made in my life. In 7 months of being in position, it started to rave as if I had to change gears as a manual car. I was stunned and took it to the dealership where i bought it and the repairs were major because if Im not mistaken it took them 2 if not more weeks for repairs. That was the start of my nightmare. Since then this car has been in and out of workshops more than I have had it on the road.
As Im writing this letter I feel like I'm just going to break down. I have never been so frustrated with a car, mind you the car waa brand new. The last time it was towed I could the sale person who sold this car me. I literally crying over the phone. The last time it broke down I was on call was such an inconvenience. and had to wait for the car rental to bring the rental car. I even asked him to tell me the truth if when i bought this car was it really new or It had been on an accident previously. It always can count several incidents where i have to wait and need to cancel my appointment because of this car.
I have also encouuntered problems form the last dealership due to negligent workmanship from one of your licenced workshops which left me wondering whether the value of "SHEER DRIVING PLEASURE" have all of a sudden turned into " SHEER FRUSTRATION OF MY DRIVING PLEASURE". This is what happened I took the car in as it was giving me a drive train warning, the first dealership fixed what ever they were fixing but 2 days down the line the warning came on, but went of on its own i then called them and told me if it happens again I'll have to take the car in of which i did. I was then told that they are no longer licence by BMW, Then my car was towed to another dealer. Apparently one of tje pipes was eaten by rats and it was replaced. After replacement they then told me that they still need to keep the car because while they were test driving it a huge back smoke came from the exhaust pipe. It took them a week to fix that.
When i fetch the car from them the battery cover was not replaced back as well as the clip where they hook it if the car is being towed. I had to take it bacj the next day. The day I fetch it I could smell something burning but I thought probably its because they have been working on the car. If im not mistaken 2 days again down it gave me a warning that it need a coolant. As usual and I'm sure the BMW on call team now knows me just by hearing my voice i called them they advised me to that its safe to refill it with water but with the coolant ill have to book it in. I immediately took it to one of the nearest dealership they checked it and the water bottle was empty. He advised me to go and park it and to refill it with water the next morning of which i did, however I had an appointment to attend that following day. I took the car and sent the email to the dearlers that initially dealt with the drive train warning and told me that i had to wait for a week to get my car booked in as they were 4 technician down. Back from my trip the burning smell was worse then i openen the bonnet just to check if it wasn't that the water bottle was empty agian and it was. I then took notice that the turbo pipe was not connected and another pipe (see photos attached) I immediately called BMW and they towed it to the same dearship.
I got it back 2 days after and before i drove it out of the workshop i asked them to open the bonnet just to make sure that everything was connected and it wasnt amd came back with the stains all over my engine.
The reason im writing this lettet I would like to find out from BMW if my pain having my vehicle spend time in the workshop than on tje road is what "SHEER DRIVING PLEASURE " is made of?
I no longer even take this car for long distances because im so uncomfortable driving it. I dont know if I'll come back driving it or I'll have to wait for a tow truck to pick it then getting a rental car which needs money as well, Im just so frustrated I dont want to lie.
I'm hoping a solution that would Enhance my customer experience and also expose me to this sheer driving pleasure you keep on talking about that i have not yet experienced.
Unfortunately I cant attach the history but I guess that wont be a problem because you have it on your record
At the beginning of September o got am oil warning called BMW on call advise to me go to any garage and refill mind you its not even a month this car has been on service. 2 weeks after that the water bottle was empty again no water in it gave a coolant warning. Tell me how am i suppose to trust this car ever again. As i have said before this is definatly a friday car and no one is willing to help.
From a very sad and frustrated customer.
