Sandton BMW is too terrible

BMW Sandton ‘service’ department is shocking!!! During a service fir leaking coolant, we were given no explanation just that it needed to be done, and in the process the clumsy technicians dropped a wrench on the engine a made a gaping hole in an airduct! This was obviously fixed and then when the car was brought up to us from the workshop, they had not bothered to put the very large, obviously noticeable cover back on the engine. We saw this immediately when the bonnet was opened and complained, and it was promptly brought up from the workshop. No apology or even acknowledgement of their mistake from the technician! This is serious - without a cover of the fuses at the first rain the electrical system could have seized! We are slow learners, as not long afterwards the car suddenly started shifting out of gear and then plumes of smoke /steam engulfed the car! We immediately had it transported by flatbed truck to BMW Sandton. They diagnosed a flat battery and completely disregarded our anxious concerns about something more serious. Despite our insistence that white smoke /steam was very worrying, the patronising idiot in charge of services insisted if we replace the battery it would be perfectly fine to drive. Since they are supposedly the ‘experts’ and our concerns fell on deaf ears, we had to accept this. Very shortly after this the car would not drive, and we again delivered it by flatbed trick to BMW Sandton. They dismissively informed us that the gearbox had seized! Unbelievably costly to repair!!! A quick Google search revealed that the previous car symptoms were a clear sign of a failing gear box!! We wanted an explanation from BMW. The friendly but unintelligent customer liason woman took over a month to arrange a meeting with the vacant, clueless guy supposedly in charge, Mike. He was uninformed when we met him and disinterested after being enlightened. They said they would respond and it has been pver a month - we have had zero feedback! Please avoid Sandton BMW like the plague
