REPLACEMENT OF WINDSCREEN WITHOUT CUSTOMER'S KNOWLEDGE

I purchased a demo BMW 1 Series(HV12VBGP) at Clearwater/West Rand BMW dealership in 2019. The vehicle has always been serviced at Fountains BMW Dealership. However, it came to my attention that a rain sensor on the front windscreen is not working at all. I complained on several occasions about this, and was informed that maybe I am the one who cannot operate the Auto button rain sensor. Upon requesting BMW Fountains to check the rain sensor on the 03 November 2021, they discovered that the windscreen is not an original BMW windscreen, which confirms reason why the rain sensor was not functioning or activated on replacement. It should be noted that, BMW Clearwater never disclosed that a windscreen was damaged and replaced before I purchased the vehicle from their showroom. It might have been a demo vehicle but they have legal duty to disclose all records of the vehicle before handing over to the purchaser. I was under the impression that every part on the vehicle is original from the manufacturer since it is under motor plan and warranty.

What troubles me is the attitude and total disregard demonstrated by Clearwater BWM where I purchased the vehicle. The matter was referred to BMW SA however yielded no results. I was provided with a document indicating windscreen replacement signed by Service Workshop Manager before I purchased the vehicle in Clearwater. BMW SA insist that I singed off the transfer of ownership of the vehicle defect with those defects. Regardless of the fact that the signature is not mine, BMW SA resolved that I signed and closed the complaint without even verifying the signature which appears to be of the same Service Workshop Manager in Clearwater. This is annoying to be unfairly prejudiced by both BMW Clearwater dealership and BMW SA. The wind screen have to be replaced with the original BMW approved one.
