Refused to take responsibility
Hello Peter, On the 10/03/2016. I had taken my car to SMG Durban, I needed them to fix my sunroof. I had problems getting it to close. They fixed the sunroof and I was happy. I took the car and I drove off. Later that day, I opened the sunroof and I noticed, that there was funny noise that was coming from the roof. I did not know what to make of it at the time, until a couple of days later, I decided to take a look at the top of the car. I noticed that the wind deflector was broken. So I decided to give SMG a call and inform them about this issue. I spoke to one of the employees, who instructed me to bring the car for a quick check. I took the car in and I was advised that they will investigate and revert back to me. Three weeks went by without a solid response, so I took it upon myself to inform BMWSA. I then received a call from SMG to bring the car in on the 05/05/16. Well, I cannot say that I was surprised about the response I received from them. I was given a job card stating “R/R Switch unit roof and initialized sunroof”. Bottom line when I took my car into BMW SMG, my sunroof was NOT broken nor was it making funny noises. Secondly, I am not petty, I would not break my sunroof and blame them for it. Now I am expected to incur a cost that should have been incurred by them. I don’t care what the job card say’s. I stand firm in the fact that I took my car in a perfect working condition and the broke it. I am really livid and disappointed at this point, because throughout the lifespan of my car, I have been utilizing SMG Durban for my services and gave them good reviews. I don’t even want to get started on the fog light that crashed a week after, I had taken my car for a service. The response was “lights burn out all the time”. I really do not understand this type of customer service, but I for one, am a very unhappy customer right now. They broke my sunroof and they should have taken responsibility. That’s all!!
