Ongoing issues with handbrake

Since I bought my car (X3) approximately a year and a half ago, I've had endless problems with the handbrake. I've taken the car in more than 8 times now for the same issue, but every time I get it back the problem is back within a day, a week or if I'm lucky a month. The worst is that I've driven the car for more than 4 months with a constant \bong"sound every two seconds"
