Main Bearing On Cranckshaft

<p>Good day, my father is a pensioner and lives in Namibia. He decided in 2010 to buy him a new 320i BMW. This car was serviced as per schedule. Now after only 90 000 km (Ninety thousand) not 190 000 km the main front bearing on the crankshaft has broken and caused damage to the engine that the engine can no longer be used and needs replacing. I would like to find out if a part which does not get checked during normal servicing needs to be made of more lasting materials than that bearing. Please inform me if BMW would interested in inspecting that part and maybe even implement corrective action, or even evn give an explanation why parts of such importance are made of such poor quality.</p>
