False dignosis

on the 3th of November 2017 I ran out of fuel in sandton driving a mini cooper countryman 2013 around 11pm. I called a friend who happened to be close by to bring me petrol to refill. after refilling with 10 litres I attempted to start the car and the car wouldn't start. so I called BMW for assistance. the attendant asked me for my registration number so he could pick up the car on his end and assist me further. He then told me that my battery was flat that is why the car was not starting. he then offered to send someone from BMW to come and jumpstart me. at this point I was alone as my friend had to rush off so I readily agreed. the attendant then told me that this person he was sending would arrive within15minutes so I agreed and waited. 30 minutes later, the attendant called me back and said he had spoken to the technician who was to come and jumpstart the car, the technician had told him to tell me it was not a battery problem but a starter problem as my starter was burnt out due to attempting to start the car a couple of times. at this point I was really stressed out because that just sounded so serious. the attendant processed to offer me help by sending a tow truck to tow my car to BMW northcliff where the car would then be fixed. I asked the technician to call me back in 2 minutes as I wanted to consult with my father before he could send any tow truck. I called my father who then suggested for us to call our own tow truck so as to cut down on costs. the BMW consultant called me back and I told him I had made arrangements so there would not be a need for him to send a tow truck from his end and so we concluded the case.my father arranged for the tow truck to come to sandton then made his way to where I was. as he arrived with the tow truck people, he suggested that we attempted jumpstarting the car before we load it on the towing truck. at the very first attempt of jumpstarting the car started without any problems. the problem was resolved around 1am . I was involved in a smash and grab incidence a month prior to this incidence.as I waited for assistance that was my biggest fear, I incurred unnecessary expenses due to this false information provided to me by BMW, I had to pay the tow truck people for getting to Sandton though they ended up not towing the car. I could have incurred even more expenses had I agreed for the attended to send the tow truck. I am even assuming if I had agreed for the tow truck to be sent and the vehicle to be towed to BMW, BMW was going to "fix a burnt out starter" that was never burnt out in the first place and charge me an arm and a leg for it. this is BMW robbing people and I know this happens a lot to females like myself that know very little about the cars they drive. this is unacceptable and very disappointing as BMW is one of the highly respected brands. I now have absolutely no confidence in any diagnosis made by BMW on my vehicle as that could be as untruthful as the above mentioned. money does not grow on trees so stop de*****ing your unsuspecting clients
