Continental BMW Port Elizabeth ?
Continental BMW in Port Elizabeth Greenacres.
My car is still under Motor plan so my wife and I took our car for a simple diagnostic test.
Upon arriving there was nobody to see to us. After sometime the receptionist shows up and tells us where we need to be.
We then get to the aftersales desk and spoke to an elderly female who started interrogating us from the start. We told her we would like to do the diagnostic test and she immediately wrote up an invoice and wanted to charge us for it.
I simply asked why. She stood up abruptly and called one of the workshop staff who’s name was Peter he tried to convince us that we had made an error by topping up our oil and this has voided our motorplan. (We were advised by BMW South Africa to top up our own oil).
I told them that I was advised to do so by BMW South Africa, they did not want to believe us and went as far as asking us for the number that we called from so they could listen to the call recording. My wife and I felt extremely offended by this.
Firstly they were interrogating us and now they were telling us that we were being dishonest.
So Peter the mechanic comes along and gives my wife and I the most condescending explanation of what we should do when we get an alert on the dashboard.
After all this trouble they eventually did the diagnostic test under the motor plan.
We also had leak somewhere around trunk of the car so when we collected the car after the diagnostic test they said there is an issue and the car was not fixed properly at the last place so they aren’t going to do it. (keep in mind this car is under motorplan and warranty)
I was fed up dealing with them at this point and my wife was furious. I know they are supposed to fix it so I just told her to stay calm and we left. The very next day the deakership I purchased the car from called continental BMW in P.E and they sang a different song.
So at the moment they have agreed to fix the car. We require a courtesy car but of cause they do not have one available for us. I told the lady in aftersales about 2 weeks ago to book our car in for a date when a courtesy car is available, she was supposed to call me right back after speaking to “the supervisor” I haven’t heard back since.
My wife and are from Cape Town and usually recieve great service at BMW so I would strongly recommend using a different branch. I believe there is another one in Port Elizabeth.
Continental BMW Port Elizabeth you should be ashamed of yourselves.
