Broken Visor - Questionable BMW Quality

On Sunday morning while driving back from my parent's place in Limpopo on sunny N1 my righthand side sun visor broke from my BMW 320i. I was beyond shocked because this is not something I expect from a car like BMW marketed on premium quality blah blah blah. In all its marketing and positioning BMW sells itself on quality that surpasses the rest. Words such as "world-class quality products and uncompromising, optimum quality" are being thrown around in their marketing. When one buys a BMW they are not only buying a car but they are buying all these promises and the experience - in their own word "pure driving pleasure". This is not my first BMW and I grew up with my dad driving a couple of them and nothing like this has ever happened. I contacted the BMW Contact Centre on 21 June 2016 hoping that they would see what this meant and want to resolve this issue as soon as possible as it has repercussions to the reputation of their brand but the agent that I spoke to had the audacity to say that "BMW is just like any other car, things break after a while". He told me to find a dealer close to me to find out how much it would cost and then ask for a discount, he added that "this would depend on the time of relationship I have with the dealership". I am told replacing the whole thing would cost R3000! I think the time where brands would just spew marketing spin without living up to it is gone. I need someone from BMW to contact me and confirm to me if this is indeed what their brand stands for? If I should change my long lasting loyalty to this brand.
