BMW x1 transmission selector spring

My wife drives a 2017 x1 2.0d sDrive. Suddenly on 99****m a warning appeared about a Transmission error, saying, secure vehicle, with parking brake...... On research I found that this is common problem with these X1 models. It is a R60 spring in the transmission selector unit. BMW replaces the hole gear selector at a cost of about R14000. BMW should do recall and adress the issue. It is German engineering and not Chinese, but the Chinese brands does not give this problem.
