BMW Worst service delivery ever, doesn't even check WATER/COOLANT LEVELS DURING SERVICE
I booked my vehicle at BMW Midrand to check for the reason my aircon was only blowing cold air, and to my understanding a full diagnosis on the vehicle was done where I was given a quote. After enquiring what impact it does on the vehicle, I was informed there's no negative impact on the vehicle, engine specifically. I paid for the diagnosis fee and left the aircon as I was informed a part was just stuck on the cold side but had no impact on the vehicle.
Today, 6 weeks later, the vehicle is giving warning of needing to slow down to avoid overheating and upon inspection, the Coolant is EMPTY. What bothers me is why was the issue of the Coolant not picked up during the diagnosis, surely Coolant on the vehicle doesn't last 6 weeks so the main cause of the Coolant being empty was supposed to be picked during the diagnosis which took place on 29 June 2023.
Now, I was actually informed by their consultant that the dealer doesn't even check for basic water and oil levels even when you TAKE THE CAR FOR SERVICE unless the vehicle tells them to do so, all that responsibility is with the buyer. What bothers me is their system which they fully rely on, still even now, after having checked that the coolant is empty, is not saying anything about the coolant, so if they fail to check for basic water and oil, what do they really check?
You speak to a consultant, they refuse to lodge your complaint higher and that's it basically. I requested a copy of the diagnosis done in June 2023 but got told that even though I paid for the diagnosis, to get a report you must pay extra. And even though they call it 'vehicle diagnostic', they don't check the vehicle. And according to BMW, you are expected to pay a diagnosis fee every month instead of them checking the vehicle properly.
BMW charges you for vehicle diagnosis but actually does no diagnosis on the vehicles except giving you a quote as they only tell you how much the issue you mentioned costs, not really tell you what's wrong with the full vehicle, but they do nothing, just charges people, and to see its actually does nothing, unlike other brands, they still charge you the diagnosis fee whether you fix the issue or not.
The funny part is that they don't check the vehicle as it will take them the whole day, as if a big car brand like BMW doesn't haven't machines/ systems where they take the car in to check for faults, responding as if it's the 1920's where everything had to be done manually.
Their basic service FAILS to check for things which has a major impact on the ENGINE, TALK ABOUT INCOMPETENCE.
