BMW Valentines Bad Romance
I bought my vehicle in 2016 from Cedar Isle Auto. For the regular service, I have only ever taken it to Sandton Auto on Rivonia and for panelbeating, I used Sandton ARC in Wynberg. I took my vehicle for the usual motorplan service on 19th January 2019 at Sandton Auto, only to be told that the engine was opened and some auto air gauge filter part is missing. The service consultant insinuated that I modified my vehicle when I had never taken it anywhere else or done any modifications. I was then told that motorplan doesn't cover the cost of the part and that I would have to foot the bill in excess of R6000 to replace it. I have since contacted BMW SA Customer Service to escalate my concerns and have been disappointed to say the least. The Customer service consultant assured me repeatedly that he would speak to the Finance and Tech teams to see what can be done and that I would have a final answer by a specific time on a specific day. The most recent conversation was on the morning of Thursday 14th Feb where I was told that by the next day, I would have a final answer. To date, I have not heard a word. No phonecall, no email, NOTHING. I sent an email to the BMW SA customer service email line but no response.
The aftersales service is pathetic and once they make the money from customers, BMW does not care and *****s customers over with nasty and costly surprises and then the customer is left to blame. This has left a bad taste and I am certain that my next vehicle will not be with the brand. #SorryNotSorry
