BMW SA not delivering what customers expect.

I purchased a BMW 2017 model and had the loudspeaker system in the car. The car played all the disks and had no problems. I then purchase the identical car in January 2018 with the same radio system which by the way the customer has to pay for, and I noticed it will not play a mp3 disk.

I brought it to the notice of the dealer that I purchased the car from and when they did the check they said that technical said the radio system no more plays MP3 disks.

BMW has failed to notify the general public that you will be paying for a sound system that will not give you the functionality of a radio that you can buy for one tenth the price and have more functionality.

When I sent my complaint into BMW SA, stating they can replace the unit, change the car or refund my money as this was not brought to my notice, the attitude was that of if you do not like it, it is your issue, and I was told BMW do not need to notify the customer of changes made in their cars.

I then sent another mail to Germany, only to find that the same people that handled the query the first time round was handling the issue again, yet I clearly stipulated that I do not want a South African person handling the claim as they are not customer focused.

I cannot believe that BMW SA treats their customers with no respect and their attitude is that if you do not like it, you can get stuffed.

I have driven BMW from the 80's and now that I have learnt about their attitude, I will never buy another BMW. For the cost of what you pay for the extras in the car and for what you get including the attitude I rather drive a brand that is customer focused like Honda, who have really impressed me with their sales team being so customer focused.
