BMW On Call Failure in Emergency – No Support When It Matters Most

I recently experienced a flat tire and was shocked to find that BMW On Call roadside assistance was completely unresponsive. Despite several attempts, there was no help — no call back, no support — from a service that is marketed as a key part of owning a BMW.

This left me stranded and forced to make my own arrangements. It was not only frustrating, but genuinely unsafe, especially given the circumstances.

As a female driver, this experience was particularly unsettling as i was also in a different province. It made me realise how vulnerable one can be when a promised support system fails. BMW promotes On Call as a premium safety feature — yet when I truly needed it, it simply did not exist. The sense of security I believed came with owning a BMW vanished the moment I actually needed help! This wasn’t a minor glitch — it was a serious safety failure

I share this experience so customers and potential customers (especially female drivers) are aware of what the support really looks like in practice. Safety and trust should never be compromised. I must also add that BMW customer care has mentioned their BMW’s emergency system was down over the weekend . That was the excuse — no warning, no contingency plan, no alternative. How can a brand like BMW allow its entire emergency platform to go offline with no backup or communication to customers?
