BMW Complain
Good day
I would like to lay a complain against BMW Witbank. On the 2nd December 2021 we took our car in for normal oil service and front break pads, we then told them that they should check the car as it seems as though it’s leaking water (we saw this day before we took it in for service).
We were then told that there’s a part that needs to be replaced that is making the car leak water, we we then told to pay R18 154.97 which we paid on the 9th December. A day later while driving the car showed a sign that the temperature is too high we should stop and get the car checked, we stopped and open the bonnet only to see oil coming out of the water bottle and since it was a Saturday afternoon we then called our insurance to get the car towed. The car was taken to the nearest dealership which was BMW Polokwane.
On Monday 13 we went to BMW witbank to tell them what happened and Garth Leaning (Dealer Principal) said to us that it’s not their fault we must bring in the car he will check it. He then called the technician who was working on the car and he just said that he did everything right, I then said to him that even if there was something wrong that you guys did you will never admit, that’s when he lost his temper and started shouting and we shouted back at him and we were standing across his table in his office and he just push the Job card papers to us and we took then and went out (living with the papers).
We then organize our our transport to get the car to BMW Witbank, and when we got there with the car after a day he was calm and explained to me that if the water part that was fixed previously was not tight enough it will cause the very thing that the car has done. We then concluded that he will take the car and check it and get back to us with feedback. He said he will only check the car on Friday the 17.
We waited for his call until my wife decided to pass by on the 21 December and she was told that it’s not their fault we have to pay R 29 039.78 to get the car fixed. She then called me and we went there together and Garth said that when they fixed the car they never checked all the temperatures on the car because they only test it for few minutes after fixing. He then gave us the quote for fixing the car and said that he can also organize that we get R10 000 off on the quote. After that we then took pictures of quote, paid invoice and left. We are very disappointed on BMW as this car has never been serviced elsewhere except at their garage and funny enough is that when we opened the bonnet one of the bolt was missing and he said that his technician said it was not there when we brought the car in and this raised some corncers as to how many bolts were not put back when they were fixing it the first time. Please see below pictures. We are not willing to pay the money as a week before we spent R18 153 on the same car at the same garage, they should just take the responsibility and get our car fixed.
