Bad customer service and being ****** of my money.

Sifiso Malanda ID No. ***084 Bikers, be ware of a wolf in a sheeps skin. Pinetown BMW has pulled a fast one on me and royally srcewed me. BMW-SA just told me to take it like a man. Here's what I'm going currently going through:

Mid-year last year, I took my bike to BMW Pinetown for a service. Later that day, service consultant called me and told me that there's a strange noise from the engine. When I rode my bike, there wasn't any noise but because I believed I was dealing with professionals, I agreed to them checking it out. They came back with a diagnosis saying I had issues with the crank shaft of my bike. They threw big words at me and confused the hell out of me while scarring me with all sorts of fatal things if I didn't repair my bike. I agreed to the repairs, which we quoted at around R45k. Then it was one thing on another. In no time, my bill was just over R70k.

After complaining, they reduced the bill to just over R65k. After hustling and managing to pay them, my bike was folds worse than when I picked it up. It was sluggish, it would cut of when iddling and not start again for 10-15min. Petrol smell from the exhaust was un-bearable. I had to roll the bike out of the garage before starting it. All my complaint were simply ignored. Eventually I took my bike to Umhlanga BMW for a second oppinion. Just on start up, they knew something was seriously wrong. After testing, they found out that piston #1 & #2 had no pressure at all. Cylinder head was never done. There was a string of other problems...

So it was back to the wolf, BMW Pinetown, armed with the information from the guys who know what they are doing. The wolf (BMW Pinetown) denied all responsibility. They told me that they had worked on the bottom part of the engine, this is now the top part of the engine. They now quoted me R65k. Seeing what had happened when they had quoted R45k, I told them not to do anything to the bike. I told the workshop manager I was going to complain to BMW-SA. He arrogently told me to go ahead as if he knew "people in high places". We I guess he did. BMW-SA politely told me to **** off.

So fellow bikers, be WARNED, BMW Pinetown will messilessly **** you and if you go to BMW-SA for help, they simply give you lube oil and tell you to take it like a man... A brand new engine would have costed me about a R100k but because customer service at BMW Pinetown is the last thing on their minds, they are trying to milk over R130k to rebuild an engine.

I was warned about this dealership and ignored them. Don't be like me, steer clear, learn from my mistake. You can never wrestle a *** in the mud and win. They have experience...
