I live in a complex and make use of Blue Security for our armed response company. Over the years we have experienced poor service from Blue and have call in with our complaints. Blue have sent a representative to the complex to meet with the trustees to discuss the issues on hand. This has happened twice in my time with the complex and both times the rep listened to the problems, said he would address the issues, left and never heard from then again. There was no change in the poor service and our complaints were just a total waste of time. Late last year the complex experienced a bad lightning storm and as a result one of the units alarm system was damaged by lightning. Blue Security Technical was called and the technician mentioned that the unit had blown and a new alarm system would be needed. He was to arrange for a quote on the replacement alarm. The owner of the unit was away at the time so the replacement of the alarm system was fairly urgent. A number of calls had to be made to Blue to obtain a quote and at one stage I was told a quote had been sent to the owner and agent but when I called the owner and agent the confirmed this, they both confirmed that no quote had been received. We eventually received the quote but before they would start the work, they required 50% up front. These are long serving clients and a 50% deposit is still required? The deposit was paid promptly so as not to delay the alarm replacement as the unit was un-occupied. Now there was a 3-week backlog before they would start the work. We had to wait out the backlog and eventually the work was done and surprisingly the invoice arrived with no delay. Pity there past response was not as quick as the invoicing system. After the commissioning of the new alarm system one the PIR was found to be faulty and this was an exact copy of the above delay process. The day the alarm was installed the tech arrived with his assistance. He left his assistance to do the work on his own while he left to attend to 6 other jobs which he confirmed to on his return. Last week I received an SMS saying I need to test my alarm signal. I called the number mentioned on the SMS and the lady told me to activate my alarm which I did while I was on the phone. She proceeded to tell me that the signal was not going through to Blue. At the same time my wife phone rang and it was the Blue Security automated service. Seems like the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing? I’m a pensioner in the complex as are a couple of others and the amount of R5040 per annum is a lot to pay to be told that you house has been broken into when you are away. By the time Blue arrive on site the ******s would be long gone after hearing the siren. With this is mind I wanted to cancel the armed response and called Blue to inquire on the procedure. I was informed to send a letter to the Retention Department, which I did. Having not heard for them a few days later I sent another email and to date I have not heard from Blue. Blues armed response service is not too bad but they could at times respond a little quicker. I do understand that they also could be on another call which would delay the response. The major issues with Blue Security is there lack of follow up procedures as mentioned above.
