Terrible Service,

On the last week of June 2016 my mobile number which i have been using for the past 06 years was rudely cut off. I received a message indicating that my service has been terminated because i have not registered with RICA(which is not true). I purchased a new sim card at a Mobile Services shop and Registered with Rica. Having done so, i was given a Vodacom number to phone to do a sim swap. This process was unsuccessful as I was told the telephone number I wished to do a sim swap was in actual fact a Contract number and I needed to go to a Vodacom shop to do a sim swap. On arrival at a Vodashop in Fourways i was told that the number is indeed a Contract Number and I have apparently signed a new 2 year Contract. I needed an authorisation letter from RMCS which is obtainable at Edgars. I went to Edgars Fourways and a very kind and professional lady assisted me by phoning RMCS on my behalf and requesting the authorisation letter to be emailed to me and also obtained a reference number.

A few days later on the 04th of July i received a phone call from RMCS supposedly confirming my email address. The letter was emailed to me the very day addressed to the Manager, Vodacom Outlet store. I went to a Vodacom Store that afternoon and was charged R63.00 for a 64k Duo Sim Replacement and was told to wait for 24-48hrs with my phone switched off as a sim swap can sometimes take that long. The Gentleman who helped me also scanned my documents and said he was sending them to RMCS as proof and that it would help speed up the process.

10 days later i returned to Vodacom on the 14th of July to find out why my number was still not working and the same Consultant who I had dealt with referred me to Edgars saying he had done everything he needed to on his side and it was both Edgars and RMCS who where holding everything back. I again went back to Edgars Fourways Mall the very afternoon and was very fortunate to find the same lady i had previously dealt with. She again phoned RMCS to find out what could be the issue and I received an sms from RMCS with reference : BLSV-160 ********** 954

The RMCS represantative promised to phone me and do a follow up......i am still waiting for the phone call.

The Sim Swap authorisation letter had a number ***which i have tried countless times.

The worst part is that it is now close to a month and the unavailability of the service is negatively affecting both my personal and professional life as day to day activities such as Banking etc are suddenly a tiresome task.

This is unacceptable at any level and I am very dissapointed.
