Sim swap nightmare

Firstly, my vodacom number was handed to RMCS without my knowledge in October. I called vodacom and they told me not to worry as it was just a promotion. Now I need to perform a sim swap and I'm told it's under contract. I called rmcs to cancel this contract and help me do a sim swap. They gave me a letter authorizing my Sim swap to be performed. When I go to vodacom stores they tell me that I need the ID of the person who authorized it. I have been calling RMCS and sending emails and there is still no reply. It's just a sim swap, why should it be so complicated
