Sim Swap Frustration

I lost my phone and i have been trying to do a sim swap via RMCS from March but till today I have not been able to. I have spoken to so many consultants who each tell me a different story everyday. I am frustrated because all my things are registered under the number I lost. How long does it take to do a sim swap?
