Possible ******* practices? Proof and verification of how this was done please?

<p>At the end of April my 76 year old mother in law's cellphone stopped working. So of she went to Vodacom with her grandson to sort it out. Was told the SIM was faulty, replaced and tried to do a number port/ SIM swap and RICA - twice, no luck. Early in May I get her Edgars account and see that there are 20 "Prepaid Vouchers" transactions on her account for about a R 1000. Of she goes to Edgars - they tell her they will sort it out, unfortunetely this was the same day my wife (her daughter) passed away. So we did not make any progress or enqueries on it. Last week we phone Edgars to check what has happened as we have not received any news or a new account. The balance was sitting at over R 3000! since then I have harrased both Edgars and RMCS for info, and only on Wednesday was told what cell number was linked to the Edgars account - her original number! So on the 16th of June I first went to Vodacom, had a fight there and they checked and confirmed that the number was active, but had "moved" to RMCS - huh? HOW? Vodacom had no access to block as they no longer controlled it - RMCS did. OK - so of to Edgars we go and have a fight there - Turns out that someone had moved my mother in law's number to RMCS and then linked it to her existing Edgars account. What? How? Asking for proof brings you nowhere - as I am still waiting for them to send me this. So neither Edgars or this OTA service (RMCS) verified that the transaction was in fact legal? Yep - guess we have no protection as consumers any more.</p>
